Basically, "wrestler's court" was something that veterans came up with to deal with minor bullshit internally in the locker room without bringing the promoters (in this case Vince and HHH) into it to deal with it.

What it was supposed to be quickly turned into a glorified kangaroo court with people like the Undertaker and Chris Benoit using it to punish people for slights real and imaginary and basically bully wrestlers lower on the totem poll than they were. For people like Benoit, it gave him an excuse to be a bully to others. And in Undertaker's case, it became a means for him to make his dick feel bigger than it was, because he was forever fucking butt-hurt that he was never the top guy in the company and was always at the guy who the top guy feuded with.

Was Vince punishing Heyman by sticking him with a loser or did HHH want time off and they had to get a literal who to injure him so they could write him off because no name guy wanted to be buried when HHH came back?

The funny thing is that according to wrestlers Taker actually handled it well but when Triple H took over everyone thought that he was only doing it to make his dick feel bigger and people quickly stopped even showing up.
