It's a chain reaction thing. Some people want to lie and others probably don't give a shit, but if only some lie and others don't, then obviously the lie falls apart when they're next to one another. At some point, every male wrestler has to lie to please the few that care (Some of which probably have had a fake height for years if not decades)
I imagine this is not a problem with women's wrestling. Mostly because why would anyone lie about being taller and also because they're all newer athletes cause there's such a big turnover.
