In case you were lucky enough to not see smackdown last night, there was another really dark video package in which Lacey Evans tearfully speaks about her father dying of a drug overdose and about her family's history of addiction.
I am honestly shocked that segment was shown on television. When I am watching any form of wrestling, I do so to escape the compilexities of reality and to momentarily be in a world where might makes right and people are constantly getting powerbombed through tables and falling off things.
The concept of drug overdoses and death should not exist in the WWE universe, just like how guns don't exist in the WWE universe.
What we're they trying to even accomplish with these depressing as fuck segments? I didn't want to cheer Lacey Evans on or see her get destroyed by someone else. How is this going to help her career and elevate her character?
