what they really need is a) crowds cheering again and b) new big names from AEW showing up in the G1 and/or big shows in Japan. if they can get danielson in the g1 and both danielson and punk at wrestlte kingdom, you'll get the AEW/reddit crowd interested again.

Gaijins ain't gonna save em. Especially old ones. They have more than enough of their own fossils. What they need is an interesting influx of young lions and several years to build them into stars. Yes, loud crowds will help and they can bridge through those years with old guys like Danielson but, they will never be anything close until new Japanese wrestlers trained from within become stars. Also, the booking sucks right now.
