>>5609886Meltzer was LITERALLY hired as a consultant for the first All or Nothing show by the Cody and the Bucks, so from that point on, everything he writes about them and, subsequently, AEW, presents a clear conflict of interest.
But still, that besides the point, and isn't why the Meltz carries water for them.
I remember watching a Kevin Nash shoot and the subject of Meltzer comes up somehow (as it usually does in these things) and Nash does the ol' "If Meltzer is so smart, why doesn't he have his own promotion?" routine, and I don' exactly agree that you have to be Gordon Ramsay in order to notice that Mcdonalds sucks, but it does reveal the reason Meltzer is so attatched to AEW. In his mind, it's "his wrestling". In his mind, if AEW succeeds, it means that the style of wrestling he favours and the stars he views as big, have mainstream appeal. It gives him validation, in a way. After all, Tony literally claims to be a Meltzer Scholar and F4 sub.
That's why he acts so "hurt" when something shit happens in AEW. He feels like they are betraying his "vision".
