I think so.
I believe that ound for pound, CM Punk is one of the greatest wrestlers of this generation. The guy is a complete package, absolutely incredible in the ring and awesome on the mic. WWE didn't know what the **** they were doing, as usual, and their wishy washy booking screwed up a once in a milion chance of building a man that could have a company built around him.
CM Punk's return in AEW helped drive the highest ratings and view numbers in the company's history. Punk's return garnered millions of views for each clip on AEW's youtube channel which is pretty impressive for a company fresh out of the gate.
Punk's merchandise also broke records for wrestling merchandise, his tee design broke a 7 year record and is AEW's hottest piece of merchandise. All this for a guy who was barely in the spotlight of either major promotion. Punk brings the ratings home because he is the complete package, high merch sales, amazing matches, phenomenal and energetic promos.
A lot of idiots hate on Punk and like to attempt to make fun of him for losing in UFC. What these keyboard warrior sitting around with their cheeto encrusted hands don't understand is that Punk had a passion besides wrestling, tried it, and it didn't work out. "Lol he lost in UFC" is a stupid argument that comes from insecure fat so called wrestling nerds who would never step in the octagon and if they did, what happens would be categorized as a Class B felony. Would love to see some of these haters flailing their flabby arms around in the UFC.
