>>5637516>NJPW HYPER BATTLE’22 4/9/22Sorry, the show I was thinking of was Wrestling Dontaku, from May 1, Hyper Battle was the one before that.
>are the shows weekly like american wrestling? so the next show im watching is 4/16?No, there's no weekly show in Japan (although their American division called Strong does, but that's not as good) like Dynamite or Smackdown, their schedule is built around their bigger shows (not PPVs, you watch them live and stream them on their streaming service) with "Road to" shows in between, which are kind of like house shows that are broadcast live and build up the major events. They're not weekly, they're more like a tour, sometimes there will be several days between them, sometimes there will be three road to shows in three days. It's a bit like if UFC had house shows between their major events. During the tournaments there is little going on outside of them; in the upcoming BoSJ tournament and last years G1 each show has a couple (or just one) of preliminary matches before the tournament matches. It's a bit weird if you've only followed promotions built around a tv schedule but it should quickly make sense.
The next big event is an American show called Capital Collision, which actually has a lot of their Heavyweight stars. Their American shows have always been weak compared to the main roster in Japan but the card looks at least somewhat intriguing, at least the U.S. Championship and Okada/Jay tag match should be interesting. After the BoSJ tournament their next big show is Dominion on June 12, which based on what is already announced should be based.
