This was the real end of the Attitude Era. Not just Austin turning heel, but The Rock's final match before going off to film a movie and HHH joining forces with Austin for absolutely no reason. This was the true end of pro wrestling.

"The Attitude Era ended at WMX7" is revisionism from Austin fanboys. Officially it ended May 2002. If you watch May 5 matches, the cameraman still wears a "WWF Attitude" shirt, but by the May 6 matches he’s switched to a "Get the F Out" shirt.

Nothing changed in the programming or storylines after WMX7.
Real ERA change came with the name change, and the roster split, which fucked up so many established teams and stables.
The shows got a new look and Ruthless Aggression era officially started.

The only reason why austin fanbitches claim WMX7 to be the end of AE, is that because by 2002, austin was back to being a midcarding jobber the way he was in 1996-97.

There is no era between Attitude and Ruthless Aggression. The Attitude era didn't end until the RA era started. Austin was still featured heavily on Raw until he infamously took his ball and went home. I'd say you can really mark the changing of eras either when they switched to WWE or when Vince delivered the Ruthless Aggression promo.

Era changes are never completely cut and dry but I'd put it with the brand split and the new Raw set, so week after Mania 18. When they castrated the F there was no going back, but the change had already started.
Just like Attitude had started well before the first Attitude commercials. A lot of 97 was a mix of New Gen and Attitude but by Summerslam at the latest. it was Attitude.
