I've actually just went and looked it up to confirm what consoles its coming out on and literally no consoles have been confirmed at all. Who knows what the fuck this is going to be on. My guess is its a ps4/xbone and pc game. Switch is possible but i wouldn't be surprised if its skipped just because switch ports are always a hassle for these kinds of projects.

The aki engine is clunky trash. The reason people like no mercy so much is the insane roster and every title having branching story modes. Aki made a bunch of games since then that no one cared about. The only reason Def Jam stood out is because they changed the controls to be more fun than no mercy slow sluggish gameplay.

The aki engine was good. No Mercy's gameplay was way better than any of the smackdown games imo and it's still really fun to play today.
People didn't give a shit about the other non WCW/WWF/Def Jam AKI games because they were mainly random unlicensed jank or games that only appeal to japs.

If you like no mercy check out ultimate muscle on gamecube. Its an actual wrestling game that uses the aki engine. Its pretty barebones though and instead of pinning you just win by using your finisher.

Def Jam 2 was the single best grappling based fighting engine I've ever played. It made me wish a wrestling company could've been around to use it for an actual wrestling or MMA game but it was 2001-2002 and it was a wasteland.
