WWE's mission from 2002 to 2022 was a success. There are now no fully-active major stars bigger than the brand. Look at CM Punk's debut, the biggest return in over a decade, everyone in wrestling knows him. Could get a 2 mil. You could get John Cena on Dynamite and it wouldn'tt get 2 million. AEW needs to create their own crossover star, and it needs to be years from now, after they have their own decades worth of rivals, feuds, and legacies.

Rock was getting 8 mil viewers. Put him on Raw today, and it's not getting half that.

You want an answer? Look at the booker. He's the guy making the decisions. In reality Tony Khan is the one who should be holding a Waffle House menu, while people like Arn Anderson make booking decisions. Arn might not be much better as a booker but he at least understands how the business used to work when it was more successful than it is today, so he'd be an automatic improvement over Tony Khan.

Tony Khan didn't mean to be the booker. He just found out the people he hired to be the bookers didn't know what the fuck they were doing and were all afraid of winning matches.
