That was obviously what was gonna happen, yes. Right around the time he left, he went undefeated on the BOSJ and pinned Okada cleanly in a tag match. It couldn't have been more obvious they were setting him up for that. And it was gonna happen real soon too. But then WWE called.

Oh, nevermind, it literally happened. My memory is hazy. I just remembered Devitt pinning Okada in the tag match, I didn't remember they actually ended up having a singles match because of it.
