>>5696170Punk's was a mix of things. He had a staph infection just above his butt that he kept going to WWE's doctor for and they just kept giving him Z-Paks rather than treating it. This made him feel gradually weaker and sicker to the point he was constantly nauseous. Eventually they gave him so many Z-Paks he shit himself in the ring, then told him off for tweeting about it.
He was also feeling burned out and hurt in general. Overall he just wanted a break, just a Wrestlemania season off, 4+ months where he could just relax and not work, and get all his injuries seen to. He almost got that a few times but Vince kept calling him saying "HEY PAL WE DESPERATELY NEED YOU BACK FOR SOMETHING IMPORTANT, I'LL OWE YOU ONE PAL" and he'd go back and it'll be a feud with Ryback or something.
Also he was disappointed with his Wrestlemania pay the past few years. He always wanted to be in the Wrestlemania main event but kept getting bumped down, then when asked why Vince would tell him he is main eventing, he's in a co-main event! But would be refused to be given main event pay, or a pay similar to the part timers he was facing like Taker.
So it all boiled down to the day after the Rumble and Mania season starts where he feels the most shit he's ever felt in that match and was expected to go an hour just to be eliminated by Kane. He's extremely sick from the staph infection they refuse to look at. He goes to Vince's office and gives him an request - give him time off for Mania so he can rest up and get the infection seen to, unless he's so direly needed such as being in the main event of Wrestlemania. Vince says once again he's in the "co-main event" of Wrestlemania and he is direly needed.. to wrestle Triple H. Punk asks Vince if he's getting main event pay, or even the same pay as Triple H. Vince says no. Punk walks out of Raw. That same week he gets the Staph infection seen to by AJ's doctor. The doctor said if he hadn't gotten that seen to in weeks he'd have died.
