Disco Inferno was the pinnacle of wrestling. He had respect for the business and the fans loved him.
Nobody was a bigger draw than Disco, and the only reason nobody will acknowledge just how shit the business is today compared to when Disco was king is because wrestling is run by women now, and Stephi Mac and Toni K have their panties in a twist about Disco, because they know they ought to be in the kitchen making him a sandwich instead of ruining wrestling.

I was reading recently that a lot of the good ideas at WCW were, oddly, suggested by Disco and a lot of wrestlers were saying he really knew the business inside and out. That being said, why Disco kept the John Travolta/70's vibe is beyond me.

He kept the gimmick because it was Honky Tonk Man but different, and brought something new to the table. its also a gimmick that's great for doing the job. if you have a long entrance where you get the crowd dancing and a monster heel wipes you out in seconds, he's not getting buried.
