>>5741414>It was legitimately a 4 star matchWell, now you got me all pent up! Opinions are opinions and all, but I have to say I disagree with you. The crowd was really, really into it, which has to count for something, but it was Ishii fighting a very enthusiastic guy that doesn't have the ability to keep up with him. His punches looked pathetic, his chops were reminiscent of Post-2008 Kojima when he's doing the spamming spot. Then later on in the match Kingston was incredibly slow from spot to spot. Basically, Ishii had believable offense whereas Kingston didn't. Less than 3 minutes in, Kingston went "ASK HIM!" resthold mode for the following 3 minutes after that, which was pretty pathetic. In one of the most cringe-inducing moments of the match, he said "THIS IS FOR MISAWA" or something to that effect when starting another resthold (That fortunately was very brief, at least). There were also a decent amount of moments of incoordination and the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing, and to be fair, Ishii seemed to be responsible for his fair share of them as well. I realize I'm now sounding like I think the match was shit, but it had cool spots in it as well and the crowd really helped sell it. I think around 3 stars is where I'd put it.
If we're gonna have someone from AEW working on New Japan, I'd much rather have Bryan Danielson. That sounds like something that would actually be very enjoyable. We don't need a way worse Cobb. Especially one even you are saying still has to make massive improvements. Bryan Danielson on the G1 sounds fucking awesome to me, and it's something, if I wasn't worked by some clickbait articles, that he has hinted he wanted to do recently.
