Suzuki nearly submitted Rutten, who had three inches and around 20lbs of weight over him at the time. Rutten is on-record saying that he was one of the toughest opponents of his career purely because of how good a grappler he was.

The whole suzuki being a fake tough guy meme is just absurd. He was never at the top of MMA by any stretch, but was easily in the second tier of fighters globally during his youth. That is the position of a guy who knows his shit.
