It can run on Linux but as it's a Visual Basic application then it's not super stable. Expect crashes every few weeks but you can instant load back in. Not too annoying.

Modding is done by downloading a database file that contains data for wrestlers/companies and a graphics file that contains all the pictures of the belts, logos, etc.
It's incredibly easy to use and create mods. The sourcing of graphics can be a pain because it needs certain pic sizes but in terms of info then it's just an Access database.
If it's real world or historical mods you're after then the community has almost certainly already done it for you and you can just download them and follow the instructions on where to place the files and you're away

Depends on what you mean and how far you want to go. You can add custom match types, custom broadcasters, etc. All data in game can be modded as can graphics, skins, etc.
If you want to change the actual code itself then because it's VB6 then there's a lot of decompiiers available that you can use and change as necessary but this is a step too far for most because the dev Ryland is an autist who has spaghetti code everywhere

Honestly i'm afraid to buy this because when I ran TEW 2013 I ended up getting a run time error on my main computer and now it's unusable. The only good thing is that this game will basically run on anything. My 2003, 2007, 2012 and 2021 laptops should all be able to run it. So I guess if I get a run time error I can just move the saves to an another computer.

By the way are you able to reinstall the game once you have bought it? Because that would suck if I had to buy it again if my computer had to be wiped because of malware or something.

All of it. I'm in 1994 at the moment but I know that Kenny Omega for example will generate in the game in the 2000s as 16/18 year old new wrestlers with no experience.
AEW will start up in the game world with Khan at the helm, that sort of stuff. It's a full timeline.

The computer is unusable?
Just push whatever function key it says to when booting to get to boot menu, and start it in safe mode.
Then defrag, do a disk check from the BIOS on next boot, and try to normal boot.

No the game cannot start. There is supposedly some .dll fix online but it did not work for it. The only way to get it working is with an another computer unless I wipe my current computer. But installing Steam into a 2003 XP computer will not end well.

2016 is satisfying to me on an almost Skyrim-level, 2020 takes time to get used to. I haven't played it enough to see if they fixed the loyalty issue though, in 2016 too many guys are too loyal to one company so they usually won't sign a written contract because of it

How many shows do you usually book in your saves. In my 1995 WCW save I booked everything. That meant 1h our of Nitro, 2 hours of Saturday Night, 1 hour of Worldwide, 1 hour of Main Event, 1 hour of Pro, 1 hour of Prime and the PPV's.

Keeping certain kino matches the same like Benoit/Haitch/Michaels and Angle/Eddie for that based ending. At the moment im teasing that Sting is the one "reviving" The Deadman so Kane and him are kind of at odds, also switched the Playboy feud and added the hair stip match to it technically by having Molly Holly and Gail Kim vs Torrie Wilson and Victoria (not booking Sable fuck that). I also have a feud/storyline between Scott Steiner and The Hurricane where Scott keeps putting him down saying hes a badass villain and Shane is a Super Zero which will end up in a street fight between the two. A big feud I wanna get going is eventually Sting going against Evolution/Haitch which will be the focal point for both of em after WM but for now im just slowly moving along, most the other feuds are staying the same.

First of all you gotta play few saves before you know what's going on. Because you usually fuck up quite badly in your first saves and you have to just start a new one.

Two. Say you book for example 2003 WWE. You got 2 hours of Raw, 2 hours of Smackdown, 1 hour of Velocity and 1 hour of Heat. That's 6 hours to book every week. And then then you have PPV's as well.

So every month you need to book about 27 hours of shows. Trust me if you try to book them well and such that will take quite a lot of time. And by the time your 3 months are finished you probably have played the game for tens of hours at least.

Just try the demo to see if it's worth it and not justify trying to pirate.

What I was talking about was title defenses. I took my little local shindy titles, faked an injury and put a new guy in in his place. Had the replacement pin the opponent just to test to see if it counted as a defense for the old team or a win for the new team. There's an alternative game called Pro Wrestling Sim that is cheaper, on Steam and compatible (with a bit of modifications) with TEW mods. And since it's on Steam, it's way easier to be compatible with Linux to the point that in the future it may get a native version.

my wcw save is in it's seventh year now, here's rocks popularity gain from the last year. i put him on wcw tv in june and gave him the tv title which he has held until now, march. he vacated it now after attacking wcw champion sting, saying that it's too small for him now.

Unfortunately my 1995 WCW save is gone now due to bugs. But I was playing in 1996 and had hired Steve Austin back. (Looks like he finally cooled down from being fired over fax)

My main feud for basically until 21st century was going to be Pillman vs Austin. It would start with Austin joining Pillman to be a horseman. Then after Starcade 1996 Austin would transform from Stunning Steve to Stone Cold while Pillman would go from Flyin' Brian to Loose Cannon. (Steve would lose a hair vs hair match to DDP and NWO would push Pillman over the edge) And after that they would soon leave the horsemen.

Then they'd team up for a little and then break off and have a small feud. Steve would win it and after that Steve would become a face anti hero while Pillman would terrorize upper midcarder faces.

Steve then would basically be on a long road for the heavyweight championship while Pillman would do his various feuds, where by the end he would retire the Warrior.

Once Steve would win the heavyweight championship somewhere in 1998 Pillman would then become his main feud. Pillman would never properly beat Steve. He might get a short title reign but nothing more during this.

After losing to Steve couple of times Pillman would move to feuding with the shell of it's former self Dungeon of Doom. He would innitially join it. But soon he starts adding new members to Dungeon of Doom and eventually he would try to overthrow Kevin Sullivan. And he would succeed to do this in a PPV match.

Pillman leading now a reformed Dungeon of Doom (which would esentially be Ministry of Darkness mixed with Raven's flock) he would use his new faction to destroy Steve Austin and get his world championship.

At least that's what I had planned before it all went to waste. Well I guess I better start all over again so I can book this.

- Guaranteed to have one show on Turner netoworks unless the ratings are absolute dogshit. Same thing with PPV's.

- If I'm in financial trouble Turner will just write one of his many checks to save my ass (aka go to the editor and give myself the money I need)

Negatives

- In countries with Turner networks and PPV providers I cannot sign with any other networks or PPV providers. (Expect WCW worldwide which is on syndication)

- Have to keep my product censored even though I play as owner.

- Those Turner tv deals and ppv deals do not give me that much money because the network which owns the company takes most of the money.

- And the biggest one. In march 2001 because of AOL-Time Warner merger I will get dropped on all Turner networks and PPV providers. (Doesn't matter if I get great or bad ratings). I also cannot negotiate with other netoworks and providers until I am dropped. Also all the Turner bonuses will stop here.

I just tried my first game of TEW 2020. And yeah the UI does need some getting used to. In fact the first mistake I did was book my main event as the opener since in TEW 2013 the segments go from up to down while in 2016 and 2020 it's the oppsosite.

So yeah many people do play as something like ECW and try to get it to become WWF sized. I have seen saves where some people started a mid 90s ECW save and were still playing as ECW in late 2000s while at the same time putting WWF out of business.

Funny thing about it is since after the segment I had to reorganize the matches which was a big mistake.

You see after my main event (Hollywood Hogan vs Booker T for the title) went about as the opener. I tried to save the show by moving my semi main event as the main event. (DDP vs Hugh Morrus). When all along I should have kept what originally was going to be opener but by this order was going to be the main event as the main event. (Arn Anderson vs Joey Maggs)

Because that Arn vs Jobber match got the second highest rating after the Hogan match.

There is a simple chart and just pick the year you would like to play. (For example 1995 start of monday night wars, 1997 post montreal or 2000 new millenium for example).

Download the scenario file and put the file in your game files database folders. Then download the graphics file and put it in the picture folder. Then in game press select database and select your mod. And then go to the game editor and edit your database so it uses the mods graphics.

The game files should be easy to find. Press program filesx86 and pick GDS and there you find the game. If you have the steam TEW 2013 version just go to where you find your all other steam games.

you can import workers from any other mod into your current database in-game, or you could maybe open the database in access and combine two databases, but just import workers in game, then copy all pictures from old to new db

old real world databases are mostly good (like 70s or 80s), because you can judge a career and the stats better.
The newer are worse, but if you just want to book shit they do the job.

I would check Cornellverse and Thunderverse anyway, because they are good and fun

Small promotion game with cverse is probably how TEW is meant to be played. It's also easier to give a fake low-indy wrestler a personality in the biography (and even stats/attributes) than it is with a real guy who works at a sunglass hut

I'm not that long into this new company, I like to found a new company and take it as far as I can in 4 or 5 years, then retire from it, then found a new company and repeat the cycle.
My current 'world' champion (lmao, my company is still a shindy in every metric so it's a world champion in the same way full impact pro and jersey pro wrestling has world champions) is old stand-by and good hand Jack Avatar. He's held it for 5 months but he's a draw so he'll probably have it for at least the rest of the year. I've been hiring a bunch of 18--21 year old guys who meet my requirements, and one of them, a 21-year old guy named Sebastien Moreau, has 'extremely impressive star presence' according to creative.
I'll be spending the next few months building him up and then I hope to have a red-hot main event ticket that will propel us all into superstardom.

I'm getting a ton of regens now, and a lot of them have crazy stats. You'll look to hire some random 18 or 19 year old worker, you'll look at their stats and the ones that matter will all be in the high 90s and shit like that

The save started in Jan. 1991 so Slaughter vs. Hogan was Mania Main Event, but I had Slaughter go over and hold the title for a while because he was mega over and cutting amazing promos.

Well... For the second time now hunchback assistant Ricky Retardo has helped his boss/master the mad scientist Dr. Demento escape from the Tri-State Hospital For The Criminally Insane.
And of course, Demento restarted his stable black hole project for the third time, with the goal of creating stable wormholes that can be used as tunnels essentially, but with the same predicable results.
Instead of creating a stable black hole connecting two points of the Cornellverse it of course instead created a one-way rift in the areas where the Cornellverse intersects with it's closest neighbor in the area, this time being the Real Worldverse circa 1980.
This time the rift opened outside of Minneapolis, MN, sucking in several dozen people, including a car containing 4 young up and coming workers (weird how it's almost always only wrestlers sucked through these portals), a young man named Hulk Hogan, a young man named Sgt. Slaughter, an experienced named Bob Backlund, and a former wrestler-turned manager named Bobby Heenan.
I look forward to seeing how they acclimate.
