Korea had a strong culture etc... for a while, although they borrowed more than they gave to other countries, as they were at a strategic disadvantage compared to the huge numbers of China or the island location of Japan. Korea was heavily modernized by Japan then America so their culture took alot from both in the 20th century, now they're somewhat in the middle of themselves, Japan and America. Chinese influence is way less and they also almost never use the Chinese characters anymore, except for old people.
