Faulting the style is not fair. Yuta is just not particularly good at it. He has good fundamentals and good chain wrestling, but ironically enough, he can't chain that together into a good match and has to get carried.

Yuta is there for a training arc as a favor, Zayne and Ace are there trying to get over and are handpicked guys by management that they want to push that are figured into booking. I expect them both to be big figures in the company, maybe get a Jr Tag run this year.

I agree about his style not being the issue, they love ZSJ and I'm sure if Dax or even Starks were sent in Yuta's place they'd be closer to Ace-level over. Yuta's chain wrestling is alright but there's no urgency or fire to it, even the Cattle Mutilation isn't exciting when he hits it, and the Seatbelt Clutch is the most deflating excuse for a finishing move I've ever seen. He's a few years in OVW (or a modern equivalent) away from being able to execute his shooter gimmick well enough for tv, and as others in the early gamethreads have pointed out his technical wrestling was mogged next to Young Lions who have been wrestling in public for barely a year.

It depends on who from AEW wants to be considered juniors. People keep talking about Starks and Darby, but whatever their size, they aren't officially juniors until they admit to it and compete in the division. Ricky is holding a heavyweight belt, and probably prefers to mix it up with Okada than Wato. It's what they want, not what the fans fantasy book.
