How are Tony's tricks not the same? Over half of the AEW roster, including ton of people that were surely promised decently higher positions, have been lost in the shuffle, and more and more debuts are coming in.

Like, maybe Vince does it purposefully and Tony doesn't mean malice by it and it just kinda happens, but the end result is the same. If WWE pays more, then it's all upside.

Because getting someone like MJF, who is one of their highest rated guys, same as Cody was (And for the record, this isn't happening, at least not until 2 years from now) and letting the AEW drown with even more NXT rejects is an addition to the WWE roster and a strategic way of having AEW worsen itself. Strategic blows like those can eventually lead to AEW collapsing, which would absolutely be a win for WWE.

Vince's trick isn't so much a trick as just doing what he always does. He gets a new toy, pushes it for a while, then gets bored. He's stuck with Cody for longer than he normally does, which he kinda has to do with how much he's paying him, but does anybody think he's not gonna get bored of Cody immediately? If I were one of those AEW guys, I'd wait until a year into Cody's AEW tenure to see what he looks like then before I thought about signing with them.
