Wrestlers have very rarely been tall, people just believe worked heights. A lot of the roided to the gills guys only looked hugely jacked because their frames were shorter. Steiner, for example, is not tall at all.

Blame Vince, when WCW folded pay rates stopped increasing meanwhile the pay rate in every other professional sport kept increasing, a big guy could make more being a bench warmer for a couple of years in the NFL than he could from a decade of wrestling in the WWE, that's why now it's all marks who were fans as kids rather than big meatheads looking for a payday
