>>5868018well what's worse is that he wasn't treated as a serious main eventer in his prime except for 1998. by 1999, he gets regulated to the mid card which is unfortunate because he got a lot better that year with his bumping, dives, selling, and intensity. he got organically over as a mostly mute face teaming with xpac, and being a great hot tag in the process. just look at this february 2000 return and the huge pop he got when he killed everyone in the ring
he unceremoniously turned heel mid way through 2000 for no reason other than taker was now the main event monster face except he sucks. as taker got worse and lazier, kane got better with 2001 being his best year. he had a goat performance in the rumble, had consistently fun tv matches with everyone from albert to angle to rikishi to even hhh, had a mega dimes hardcore match at mania, and had a goat look. but he was always shelved to bullshit stupid storylines like the coffee feud with jericho or the tori shit or playing second fiddle to taker during the ddp feud.
the bicep tear in 2002 pretty much ends his prime and it's such a shame that he was never taken as seriously as he could've been during his prime. he pretty much only did dumb shit afterwards and was a shell of his former self physically
