I think that would be the goal of it. It shakes MJF up from the way he's been for ages, Omega and the Elite can be faces again until there's the inevitable split (I think there's gonna be some sort of clash between Elite and BC before they split.)

I don't think Tony being a regular thing instead of the very occasional appearance is a good idea. Just let Punk be Tony's mouthpiece, and he gets everything backstage.

But also this should be after all out. Max and Punk should spend time apart first. He can spend a few months just doing shit begrudgingly, and then "ruin" a PPV match before it gets serious.

MJF having worked as an extra at the E would be with the ex-WWE guys, but depending on his next booking he just made a face turn.

I realize Tony booked himself in a corner with the Door PPV and this MJF thing but they should build up towards, CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy while Jeff can walk. there's too much history there to not do the feud.
also Bryan vs Joe in a rematch WWE never gave us for similar reasons
also the need to get the womens' title back on Baker and rehab her until they do Jade vs Britt for both belts, it's AEW only money women's match.

That's a title match at Forbidden Door, Tanahashi isn't winning. I think it would be near if MJF disappears for the next few weeks and attacks Punk after his match at Forbidden Door (seeing how he keeps letting everyone know he doesn't give a shit about New Japan). MJF already feuded with Punk. If this happens and someone "represents" Tony it should at least be someone he hasn't feuded with. Probably some AEW original for who it'd make sense to back Tony. I'm guessing Bryan will soon feud with Punk over the title, so that leaves him out. My best guess (and it's a terrible option) is that they'll go with Adam Page because they can't admit to themselves that he's a failure.
