same shit happened to tna got decent total viewers but they had the same demo differential for top cable shows that raw and 2.0 have today and they died hard because they went hard to appeal to old fans instead of building new ones. at points they were really strong in young fans but they tuned out because of too much monday night war guy wank.

Wrestler personalities aside, the presentation of WWF by 1999 seemed way more in tune with pop culture at the time (scratch logo, music, gimmicks). As a 10 year old I could tell WCW was the un-cool company just by the presentation. The nWo caught on with teens/young adults but everything else was just bland.
