Had his shot in the big leagues and was gaining a lot of fanfare on Velocity along with Paul London (I know, people actually watched Velocity then) but didn’t wanna cut his hair……only to go back to TNA and cut his hair. In essence, Frankie screwed Frankie. I have no sympathy.

Yeah pretty much this. He’s a very solid hand but he doesn’t have the charisma to be anything above a midcarder with occasional forays into the main event. His career probably went as well for him as it could or should have. He got exactly what he deserved and earned. He could retire tomorrow and be proud of his body of work, but he was never a word champ. If TNA or RoH wanted to give him the world title for a very brief run as like a lifetime achievement type of deal, like RoH did for Jerry Lynn, that would be fine, but he’s not a true main event/world champ talent.

Anyone nicknamed "the future" or "the next" not named Brock Lesnar never prosper as planned. Companies set that up as if they have the most foolproof plan with the most ready of talents and neither end up that way. Shows like Tough Enough and the original NXT it's the same way, their winners never go very far because they start out with such a high bar when they're years and years from clearing it.
