Undertaker went into the HITC match against Mankind at King of the Ring 1998 despite his toe being broken. He started it with an injury.
Vader popped his eye out in a match against Stan Hansen in Japan. Critically, he put it back in himself. In front of the crowd. Like a badass.

This sort of stuff happens all the time, certainly happened a lot in the past.
