2 years ago, when negotiations between Punk and AEW failed people blame Cody for dealing with the situation unprofessionally. Now I'm starting to think that he did that on purpose to dodge a bullet

That's interesting. I'd love to see a timeline of Cody's time / involvement in AEW, starting from before the first DoN. Cody may be a deluded sociopathic self-mark, but he might have been worth putting up with if he as keeping us safe from Punk. I also seem to recall him having plenty to say about Punk's jab about "I don't do business over text message", adding that he didn't want "anyone here that's not completely on-board with our vision, not excited to be a part of it."

We didnt have punk in pandemic era. Imagine oaying him arm and leg. Then there is now crowds and you get to watch in silence when he botches his matches.
But to be fair. He would have gone home for whole year when coof got big. Imagine paying him to do nothing.
So either pandemic era would have killed punks career or drained aew bank account.
Cody saved aew from lot of proplems
