wwe is a variety show, they have plenty of good workrate people and need dumb characters and young wrestlers to fill out the main roster shows
people agree nxt sucks but dont see the big picture
creeds, melo and trick, bron, tiff, roxy, bron etc suck on nxt kinda but if they're young upstarts on the main roster they'd be a draw with younger people.
they're also pushing weirdos with dumb gimmicks which main roster is also lacking. like joe gacy or whatever.
it's developmental and it will be whatever wwe needs at the time. 1.0 was to make workrate wrestlers because they were getting shown up by roh and new japan and shit, now they got good workrates dudes and need to cycle back to young people and goofballs. they'll probably cycle back to workrate sooner than later since they already got what they want with the current batch and are lacking in workrate guys again.
