It was all thanks to Cornette. They wanted to push him to the moon but had no clue what to do and Rock was green as fuck. Cornette taught him a bunch of moves and mannerisms, convinced Vince to turn him heel, introduced him to Muhammad Ali, etc... Without all that shit he would have been an overpushed dud like many other guys.
