This game can be played like Splinter Cell if you use the infinite heaven mod to turn enemy vision level up to 200% and night time sight vision down to 20%. The game becomes all about taking out the light sources

You probably posted this on the wrong board but that actually sounds fun. I should give it a try. I’ve been doing a lot of self imposed challenges on myself to make it harder like taking the absolute bare minimum lowest grade gear. No sneak suit companions etc.

Sometimes I'd spray down entire bases with a scoped machinegun by sitting out beyond enemy range on an overlook and dropping more ammo if I ran out.
I also did some very deadly "non-lethal" runs. Like knocking everyone out and drowning them in puddles. Or shooting everyone in the leg and letting them bleeding out, actually very easy because their allies try to help them and end up as victims too.

They are but those games are like 95% gameplay 5% story and MGS1 retcons some stuff so you don’t really miss too much by not playing them. I will say Metal Gear 2 unironically is a better stealth game than MGS1.
