Christopher had a lot of enemies inside and outside of pro wrestling, but nobody disliked Benoit more then Kevin Sullivan. Sullivan's wife left Kevin to be with Benoit. Did he murder his ex wife and her husband? We will never know.

Chavo was very close with Chris and Nancy after his brother Eddie passed away. Eddie and Chris were said to have been in a secret homosexual relationship and his death crushed Benoit. While Chris was depressed and coping, Nancy needed a strong man to keep her needs kept while her lazy crybaby husband mourns over his dead cholo twink bf, and that's where Chavo stepped in. Chris couldn't take the fact that a new man had taken over his role and he helplessly needed to regain his masculinity back the only way you can by that point.
