I think so but MJF wasn’t supposed to turn face or tweener from cutting that promo. The fact that he did should actually be a wake up call for Tony to seriously cool it on brining in ex-WWE guys unless they’re main event level talent like Rollins or some shit

The WWE mentality for so many years was to bring legends and main eventers for a ratings boost but the well got broken so often with that schtick.

AEW's opposite is to bring in established stars until there's no more. They need to build actual stars a lot more.

I don't think he really became a babyface. But people heard the "details" about his contract, and no one is gonna boo an underpaid guy calling out his boss. If it was all a work they needed to "leak" some obnoxious demands too. Cuz I don't think he's meant to be the good guy.
