>>6005963>>6007068it had to do with AAA titles vs smaller studios filling out console libraries. look at what's cheapest - nintendo's entry games (mario, mario kart), blast corps (random game with no tie ins). then the middle ground are games with a franchise that's known attached to it but it's not a main story from it or it's a smaller niche sport game (star wars, wave race). and then the most expensive are the games with tie ins, turok (comics), gretzky (nhl, duh) and doom (self explanatory). same goes for the playstation side just with slightly different pricing because the contract for dev'ing for 64 sucked shit price wise for devs, also why the nintendo in-house games were cheaper.
