The deal probably happened after New Japan had booked everything. It probably only fully came together around the time Tony announced it. If they wanna keep touring, they should consider doing an American tour next time. There's no way they couldn't fill a few 2k venues.

Yeah, both sides probably wanted to capitalize on negotiations as soon as possible. Then touring in America right during the Forbidden Door build would diminish stuff, though. The schedules just need to be better planned next time.

Yeah, you're probably right on that front. And the others. New Japan had venues and everything booked for months in advance, presumably. Getting the deal then waiting for like 8 months just potentially pisses away the possibility of doing a show in summer, then hitting Japan in winter. This way you theoretically can build for the future while getting paid.
