The only time I've ever watched AEW, was that very first battle royal. It featured gays, amputees, jobbers, etc. I knew then that cum slurping promotion wasn't for me.

That said, do they do battle royals differently than real feds? I feel like AEW goes backwards somehow.

AEW's battle royals usually go with 4 groups of 5 wrestlers +1 "joker" going one at a time in the ring like the Royal Rumble. It's basically a mix between a rumble and a battle royal.

The first one they did at Double or Nothing was also embarrassing. I'm a shoot AEWfag and I decided to check it out after years of watching their programs and it was awful. I genuinely cannot believe that they decided it should be the first thing people should watch in their promotion.

You can use the same format and just change something about it and call it something different. TNA got away with doing ‘gauntlets’ forever and the only difference there was that the last two left ended in a pinfall or submission.
