Ian Rotten is a scumbag who contributed to wrestlers dying way too young a la JC Bailey; ripping people off, he abused Mickie Knuckles, set several wrestlers up to get jumped, and was an all around scumbag for years. Onita fucked over his own promotion after wanting to be a movie star, fucked over his ring announcer which led to his death, and is in general a self serving carny. However Onita pretty much laid the groundwork for modern day deathmatch after innovating what was done by the Funk family, and the territories, and did everything on a much grander scale than Ian Rotten. Ian Rotten however had IWA Mid South lead to more wrestlers breaking out of the indy scene. Both had positives and negatives about them
