Pretty much. It would kinda make sense if he was about to start making a bunch of best of collection dvds since he has their 3 biggest names (Punk, Joe, Danielson), but I doubt that's gonna happen and it's just so they can use random clips in hype promos.

I think the deal would’ve made sense 5-6 years ago when people still collected DVDs because you have the back catalogue of basically a huge portion of the main event guys in the last 10 years but it’s got pretty minimal value as stream bait. Theres too much out there to subscribe to and too much current wrestling on tv to get much engagement from a back catalogue.

The library is worthless, he didn't buy it for business reasons. He will never recoup the money, he just bought it because he's an ROH mark and wanted to own it (and didn't want WWE to own it). It has zero value to streaming services, only a small fraction of the hardcore wrestling fanbase will want to watch anything from it. So we are talking about 1% of 1% of wrestling fans

Why wouldn't they just create their own streaming service with AEW/ROH and a few other indies/tape libraries bundled in. Isn't that what WWE does with their network on top of their tv deals.

Tony only owns AEW and ROH right now. He could probably talk Excalibur into throwing PWG in with a streaming service but that'd still leave Tony needing to buy more libraries to make it remotely worth it.
