Jericho was upper midcarder in WWE. He visted main events and had transitional reigns but never was THE GUY or ever even considered to be.

Triple H was bonafide headliner and top heel during peak of Attitude Era. He was the guy shows were built around.

Chris Jericho has taken part in other outside shit that HHH could never.
Hell, I'd wager more people probably know of Jericho just because of the various documentaries and shows he has been in. Also the fact that he has a band.
