>>6060328Not that I recall. The best booked western wrestling show I've ever seen was on youtube with 2018-2019 era MLW. I say best as in there was a clear story about Mobster shit & a terrorist faction with each belt having a story of its own. The best tv wrestling I recall is that russo lightning in a bottle shit that you referred to. Wrestling was also pretty watchable during the 80s from the Iron Sheik, Hulk Hogan all the way up to Sgt Slaughter's era which also had freakshow spectacle champions in Andre the Giant & the Undertaker, but Hulk's run is just that same boring ass Super Cena crap that Vincetty always books. Sgt Slaughter was a bit different but a run like his could never be done these days since due to how fucking retarded modern Amerimutt politics are. Slaughter also exemplifies that style of wrestling that zoomers really fucking hate, but I liked it coz that fat fuck told a story in the ring through his body language & wrestling psychology, nearly as well as Ric Flair does.
When I think about what made classic WWE 80s & 90s era so good is exactly what you said. It was just the actors who were carrying the show. The actual booking is actually the same exact bullshit that we still see today, but none of the wrestlers have any charisma, since nearly none of them have had the interesting lives that wrestlers from the 80s & 90s had. Essentially, they were men doing a job for a paycheck. Modern wrestlers are just marks, living out their dreams.
