Following the 1973 Oil Crisis, the first world nations (US+Israel+Commonwealth+NATO) realized that the second and third world, primarily Russia and Saudi Arabia had disproportionate control over Oil markets relative to the size of their total economies, to the extent that they could bring the west to their knees. Since then, the entirety of US Government and every industry but the Oil industry have worked lockstep to "move past" oil, enrich Iran and Ukraine, and generally mount a whole of government and industry approach to kill Russia and Saudi Arabia's biggest industries. Ever wonder why the intel guys, corporatists, neo-cons, and liberals all seem so self-righteous and treat everyone who disagrees with them like a terrorist? That's why. They've been trying to execute a plan to fuck over Saudi Arabia for 40 years now with very very limited success. Trump trying to dismantle their plan because it was killing the US economy is the ultimate insult. They will never let it go. Same reason they hate Vince. At the highest levels of government and industry you are supposed to know: Saudi Arabia bad, Russia bad, Oil bad, Iran good.
One day you will read classified documents from the 70s approving the whole cooking up of Global Warming, but it isn't time yet, it'd cause to many heads to explode.
