It's overhyped when you compare with to modern standards when you get a match like this on tv every other week. This was on the same card with like fuckin King Kong Buddy fighting 3 midgets and an imobile Andre the Giant shuffling around in the ring

Of course Steamboat Vs Savage was miles ahead of whatever else was in 90% of WWF cards of that time and a lot of NWA stuff as well. Still, the conception i had of that match was because of how people sell it nowadays, again, it's good but not as good as some people might have you believe
