Injury prone at literally the worst possible times. Happened twice and Vince lost all faith (see: Finn balor, Sami zayn)

Also he really wasn’t a good worker. He was completely bland in the ring but he had a good catchphrase and good mic skills

If he had as much potential as everyone seems to think he did, he would have persevered in spite of his setbacks. I thought he was great in WWE/TNA but he failed to get to that next level.
