Danielson has been dead meat since WWE first killed his rise. "Yes!" was organic then, but then it took an entire extra year for Bryan to hit the top and by that point, "Yes!" was the cry of a meme movement and not the natural one it first was. Everything from then has been diminishing returns with him, to the extent that it was openly commented on that his return from retirement went over lukewarm and then they killed his hippy belt championship reign super quickly. Then he got murdered out of the company. His AEW signing was a sign of life but sadly it was the blip from being hit with a defibrillator, proof positive that he's nothing now. Worse, signing with AEW in itself killed him fully since all the hype surrounding him amounting to absolutely nothing in a retarded mark promotion all but ensures he'll never truly get over again.
If he had run an indy tour and spent time fighting in Japan and across the UK for a couple years, it would have rehabbed him and gotten people horny to see him back in the states again. Now, no one gives a shit.
