Some folk who worked on Kaiju films may have had crossover with the backstage film crew of AJW too.
The whole culture of late 80s/early 90s Japan was peak kino overall though, so the pieces fit. From the cocaine-laden hype train of early j-pop, to achieving the peak of film animation, everything was on point back then over there.
