Yeah it was kind of a crap way to end this saga on. Like the fact some areas were barred off and some characters disappeared without a trace. It felt incomplete.

Kiryus saga ending with Majima, Saijima or Akiyama barely being in the game just feels wrong

Yakuza 6 is the only numbered Yakuza game (other than 0 where you play as Majima) where the player doesn’t fight Majima at all. Hope Yakuza 8 is about Ichiban helping Kiryu get an actual happy ending since he’s still doing the same shit he’s always done.
