He's not as big a deal as Okada, if that's what you're asking. Probably not as big a deal as Tanahashi in America either (Not so sure).

But yeah, he'd certainly have gotten the New Japan wrestler biggest pop of the night other than those two (and Shibata because of his story). It's not even in question.

50% of the gross has to be split with the PPV providers, and then they have to split the rest with NJPW and then there are the expenses of putting on the show. Seems like NJPW gets way more out of this than AEW.

Yeah, but it's Tony's fault that the PPV sold this badly to begin with cause he can't promote it for shit. And the quality of the PPV was mostly carried by the New Japan side too. So all around, it's fair.

Keep in mind that's New Japan's number, not AEW's. I'm sure AEW have been lowering it and lowering it, but New Japan was always guaranteed to make good money from this and they lost literally nothing to do it. This was a big fat payday for them.
