He was given a few attempts to get over in WWE, but never proved himself to Vince as a main event guy. Rotted in tags/midcard for years. One time he body slammed Big Show and it was hype.

Yeah it's not rocket science. I watch AEW exclusively and gave up on WWE some time in the early 2000s. 15 years is being conservative.

Incredibly based. Wish I could say the same. I only stopped in 2018
The thing with him is that he's tall, ripped, based wrestler and the crowd always loved him. Yet WWE made him a jobber. Every time WWE tried to make him look a bit more credible the fans got excited but then they just randomly dropped him cause apparently he "can't connect with the crowd". And now he finally gets the chance to show what he can do without the shitty "but you're in the undercard so you're not allowed to show more than a resthold" restrictions in WWE

Cesaro was based, vince just didn’t think he would work as a top guy bc he isnt a very good promo, he will be pretty good in AEW where that doesn’t matter as much bc he is a great in ring talent and has a lot of physical charisma
