I never saw him much in NXT but people made fun of him all the time. Maybe he was better in NXT but he's been god awful in AEW. I was willing to give him a chance but he's had shit matches and killed Hangman's title reign

He plateaud hard near the end of his NXT run, and is basically still doing the same thing. Undisputed and all. From there he jumped right in with the Elite(no mystery) and has been struggling physically recently.

Cole in 2017-2019 would have helped kickstart AEW to the moon. That exact same Cole in 2022 is just 'meh'. He either needed a break or needs a cycle or both.

Because he's not a main eventer and shouldn't be booked like a main eventer. Main eventing NXT is basically midcard. Adam Cole should be chasing the TNT title if anything. His scrawny arms were in the AEW title picture for months. Two fucking matches against Hangman, and a spot in the IWGP 4-way? Fuck off with that shit.
