It felt sort of like a Strong or other NJPW US PPV, to me. I think the NJPW guys outmatched our outright carried their opponents for most of it, but I admit I'm very biased. I watched it with friends, and as with other AEW PPVs, I enjoyed hanging out with my friends more than I did the wrestling on screen. Not a bad PPV, but I didn't find it incredible either.

I think Swerve has solid fundamentals, but he suffers from does-too-much syndrome like a lot of guys do nowadays. He'd be fine doing one move but usually strings together two or three.

The opener was really smartly laid out I think.
It probably could've done with a bigger heat segment on Kingston or Umino, but I really dig how much of a "hired killer" vibe Suzuki has in this match. Kingston could basically enforce his will on Jericho or Sammy, but Suzuki would come in and completely shut down Kingston the whole match.

It's really hard to tell how good someone is, especially intricacies and nuances, in a messy six-man tag, to be fair. Umino's great and has gotten a lot better just recently. I would really recommend watching his match against Jay White, it's paced much better and he gets to show off his underdog babyfacing. Jay's a masterful heel and Umino plays off it perfectly, where he's seemed a little awkward in his fire ups before.

I cannot remember which match it is but Misawa has him up against the ropes and is battering him and then Kawada comes off the ropes and just as you think he's going to retaliate he stumbles and slowly veers off and bails through the ropes. And he does ALL that whilst maintaing eye contact with Misawa. It's brilliant.

He said after the match that he was dissatisfied and very unhappy that the match was set up so early before his body is 100% and he complained directly to TV Asahi telling them that they have to think about his condition a little more and stop being money-grubbers.
