Sure, you might be able to sustain or even gain a bit of ratings out of building a guy like an undefeatable juggernaut and literally having him bury 80% of your roster, but where do you go from there? When and how does he lose? And how much damage have you done to your company building him up? What do you do with him after he loses? How do you build back up the 80% of the roster you've had him absolutely shit on?
Goldberg was good for the fans and good for Goldberg but he damn sure wasn't good for WCW's total health in the grand scheme.
