aew was 'aew' because they got what talent they could while wwe was still hoarding a lot of it. if you asked tk what his ideal year one roster would be alan angels would not have been on it, but he took who he could and eventually signed guys he would have preferred from the start once they became available, and now the lesser talent he had to live with the first few years is disposable. the core of aew originals that matters is pretty clear to anyone who watches the show and it isn't guys like angels or janela or whoever. and on their side of things, they got national tv exposure and the chance to prove they deserved a spot that they never would have had if the better talent was available from the start. guaranteed alan angels isn't even a blip on impact's radar if he didn't get exposure with aew first.
